The Transformative Power of AI for research dissemination

For a recent stakeholder engagement workshop in Kenya, LANDMARC researcher Moritz Laub was discussing why Kenya's maize yields have been stagnating in a way that cuts against the grain of global trends.

His research has produced some interesting answers. According to Moritz's findings, there is a relatively simple method Kenyan farmers could use that might improve their yields, while also capturing more carbon in the soil.

He used ChatGPT to write and illustrate a fictional fable about his results -- just as a rough example of how we could use educational storytelling to disseminate our research findings to those who could actually use it. This is what it came up with:
